Paul has a bachelors degree in Process Biotechnology (University of Teesside, UK). He has completed numerous leadership training programmes, most recently with Genpact (Leadership Excellence Acceleration Programme). Paul continues his education through his industry associations memberships, detailed below.
Paul is a senior leader within the life science professional services sector. He has a rare mix of commercial operations and extensive regulatory project skills, developed over 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry and through a number of significant roles at VCLS, and Pharmalink Consulting (now Genpact). He has substantial experience in the consultancy service business sector having previously managed operations for the last 15 years in both Europe and the United States. Paul’s wider experience within the Pharmaceutical industry has been gained in a variety of positions spanning manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory science.
Prior to joining BlueReg Group, Paul led the Global Business Development and Marketing at VCLS, organising and managing business growth across multiple regions and developing strategy for service delivery with new and existing clients with the objective of establishing long term, mutually beneficial business relationships. He was also a member of the Strategic Advisory Board. In addition, Paul provided leadership for the UK team as UK General Manager.
Paul has a sound track record of operational management in the service sector alongside P&L responsibility. He has managed teams in excess of 60 staff in both a line management and project capacity. Whilst at Pharmalink Consulting Paul developed a new operational hub in the United States, and as Head of UK Operations he grew the workforce to 65 permanent staff across multiple locations. Paul has significant line management experience and has managed global project teams in both regional hubs and in market locations.
Paul’s commercial experience ranges from supporting client proposals and bids from a technical standpoint to specific roles in business development. That is, understanding client business needs through consultancy, managing requests for proposals, and through contracting processes. Paul has managed client relationships in both technical and procurement functions to increase sales and also open revenue streams in new buying centres. Paul has developed client strategy and account plans, identifying value proposition and tactical objective delivery.
Paul is a member of and has contributed to industry groups such as TOPRA (the Special Interest group for Biotechnology, and the Organizing Committee for the Biotech Module of the MSc Regulatory Affairs) and as an Editorial Board member of the Regulatory Rapporteur. He is also a member of the Drug Information Association and has spoken at the annual conference in the past. Paul is a member of the Institute of Directors and has experience as a Companies House Director.
At BlueReg Group, Paul is responsible for the growth of our business globally. He also manages the UK team by ensuring there is adequate resources available for our internal projects and to grow the business in the UK domestic market. He is based in High Wycombe, UK.
